“I am 5′ 4” tall and 30 years old and have been athletic thru my high school days. I really lost control of my body, gained a lot of weight and seemingly overnight, my body composition and shape changed – and not for the good.
My clothes were uncomfortable, and I felt weak. I had gained about 40 pounds and lots of inches in just 4 or 5 years, especially in my waist, hips, and abdomen. I didn’t like it, but I didn’t know how to effectively deal with it.
In November 2018 I decided that it was time to find a trainer who would understand what I needed and who would customize workouts for me as an individual so that I would see results. Honestly, I felt pretty discouraged about my prospects for progress.
I found the right trainer for me in Clayton. The first day I met with hi for an assessment, we sat and talked about and I almost cried fearing I was going to fail at this. Clayton told me “You’re here now and I’m going to get you to where you want to be.” So I composed myself, bought some stretchy workout clothes, and came to the gym ready to do whatever he asked of me.
We started with things that I could handle, and we talked about nutrition. I ate more chicken, whole grains, and green vegetables, and less red meat and dessert. I worked out with Clayton for 50 minutes, one day a week, and did some additional workouts independently on other days that he specifically created a plan for me. I started to see positive changes in just one month and felt a glimmer of hope.
Just two months into my journey, I found out I was expecting a baby. At that point all my “goals” in my eyes had shattered. Clayton and Aubrey (his wife) took the time to think of a workout plan to make sure I don’t hurt my body or baby. “Safe exercises”.
Clayton continued thru my entire pregnancy asking me what my goals were and not to give up. He really inspired me.
Fast forward, one year later working with Clayton I feel the best I have in a long time even after a pregnancy. I see positive results. I wanted to quit so many times but he never gave up on me. Clayton cares for each and every one of his client sand it truly shows. His knowledge about nutrition and fitness is remarkable.
So all in all, the quest for less body fat, more muscle, and better fitness continues.
